Having a female-identifying body comes with both gifts and challenges and is undeniably associated with unique power and status dynamics. I’m working with Quilt, a leaderless community of women who gather to grow together, through conversation, to host an hour long discussion about the impact and array of prevalent body norms, behaviors and standards that are presented to us as womxn.
We’ll savor the beginning of Fall by gathering outdoors in Tompkins Square Park to enjoy pastries, community, and grounded discussion about how we can embody ourselves from a position of empowerment.
What is Quilt? Quilt is a resource for members and non-members alike and for womxn from all backgrounds. This platform aims to support womxn in connecting with each other in a genuine way, supporting personal and professional aims.
The gathering is free for members and $15 for non-members. Pastries and a blanket under a canopy of trees will be provided in this 1-hour facilitated conversation designed to make you think and to give you the opportunity of being in community with womxn. Limited to 10 womxn.
